New starter set as future collector's item?

I was going to wait for the DMG to buy the trio of books, but couldn't wait any more.



I also considered buying two more copies to keep one as a collector's item, and another one for when my kid is old enough. Anyone else considering keeping an unopened copy as a collector's item , or done it already?
