2015 Hyundai Elantra SE - $18,200 for the 6-speed MT incl. mats, D&H (Sport shown) while offering a 28/38 mpg city/highway rating.
While looking for deals on C, D and CUV segment deals, I came across the best compact deal I have seen since the 2012 Civic with a stick for $14,500. And this deal is even better!
The Hyundai Elantra returns for the 2015 model year with new features and packaging updates. The multiple award-winning compact continues with the highest in its segment for initial quality in the influential J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS).
For the 2015 model year, Elantra Sport received a new optional Tech Package, while Elantra SE adds a new Style Package. Similarly, the Limited Ultimate Package offers $350 in savings over the previous model year Limited Tech Package with the same content. 2015 Elantra pricing starts at $18,200 incl. mats, D&H but throw that numbers out with the company’s aggressive discounts for March Madness.
As I shop in the San Diego area for either a fully loaded Sonata Hybrid Limited or Elantra Limited, I came across this “Best Deal of the Year” to date.
This “Hot” deal is available from FrankHyundai in National City, California. Unfortunately it includes some type of add-on alarm system which I have calls into the dealership to find out about rejecting that non-sense.
The 2015 Elantra continues to benefit from the exterior and interior styling updates introduced last year along. Revised steering, handling and a focus on reduced wind, engine and road noise enhance the Elantra all around.
Updates for 2015: New Elantra SE Style Package (requires SE Popular Equipment Package) - provides a $400 value savings and is fitted with black cloth seating exclusive to the SE trim, power tilt and slide sunroof, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, projector headlights with LED accents, chrome beltline molding, and aluminum entrance sills (front doors).
The new Elantra Sport Tech Package (requires Sport AT) includes the 7-inch NAVI system, 360-watt Premium audio with external digital amp, Blue Link telematics.
And the top of the line Elantra Limited Ultimate Package, provides a $350 savings over the previous model year Tech Package with same content.
The Elantra SE Popular Equipment Package adds driver’s one-touch auto up window.

2015 Hyundai Elantra Exterior Design
The Elantra incorporated Hyundai’s famous “Fluidic Sculpture” design that not only achieves a sharp looking exterior from any angle, it provides the entire Elantra sedan line-up with an exceptionally low 0.28 Cd.
Hyundai’s signature hexagonal front grille and wraparound headlights give Elantra its modern face. The upper trims include L-shaped foglights and projector headlamps with sharp looking LED accents. Side mirrors with integrated turn signals on upper trims and LED rear taillights complete the distinct and premium look.
Thanks to its 95.6 cu. ft. of passenger volume and 14.8 cu. ft. of cargo volume (trunk), it is actually a small midsize vs. every one of its competitors other than the 15 Corolla which also entered small midsize status with its redesign.

2015 Hyundai Elantra Interior Design
Inside the Elantra drivers and passengers will find the same flowing lines that make the Elantra a standout in its segment. Along with easy to read and fully backlit switches and instrumentation, tilt and long reach telescopic wheel, the comfortable seats are made of lightweight, environmentally friendly foam. Heated seats are available with the upper trims front and rear.
The 2015 Elantra SE has a two-tone interior with a choice of either gray or beige. The optional Style package adds a monotone black interior. Elantra Limited has standard leather seating surfaces available in gray, beige or black. All Elantras have cloth-like A, B and C-pillar trim made of fibrous tissue and volcanic rock for a premium look and feel.
Aluminum pedals on the Sport and aluminum door sill plates on the SE Style Package, Sport and Limited class the Elantra up far beyond its main competitors and for thousands less.
2015 Hyundai Elantra Drivetrain
Under the hood, the Elantra offers two engine choices. The MPFI 145 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque 1.8L I4 is standard on SE and Limited trims. The Elantra Sport is equipped with the 173 hp and 154 lb.-ft. of torque 2.0L I4. While it is reasonably efficient when pushed, the performance gain is not worth the 10+ percent decrease in efficiency.
As in 28/38 mpg city/highway (SE w/ 15” or 16” alloys) and 27/37 mpg city/highway (Limited with 17” alloys) compared to just 24/35 mpg city/highway for the Sport with the 2.0L GDI and 17” alloys.
The 2015 Elantra SE can be equipped with a 6-speed manual or automatic with SHIFTRONIC manual control. The Limited and Sport can only be purchased with the 6-speed automatic.

2015 Hyundai Elantra Infotainment
The Elantra is available with three audio systems. Standard is an AM/FM/SiriusXM/CD/MP3 audio system with six-speakers and iPod/USB/auxiliary input jacks.
An optional audio system adds an upgraded screen with a 4.3-inch color LCD touch screen and rearview camera display.
All systems feature enhanced voice recognition and a jukebox feature allowing the user to copy songs from a USB to the dedicated storage in the head unit. Standard iPod/USB auxiliary input jacks allow portable devices such as MP3 players to be connected via USB or 3.5mm mini-jack. Bluetooth audio wirelessly streams music from select mobile phones to the head unit.
The Elantra Limited and Sport is available with a multifunction seven-inch touch-screen with NAVI, rear-view camera and an external 360-watt amplifier. Pandora is also integrated into the optional seven-inch NAVI system.

2015 Hyundai Elantra Safety
With a modern and well-designed crash resistant structure, front, side and side curtain airbags, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control (TC), ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), the Elantra will provide owners every chance to avoid an accident and in the worst case, protect them if they do. It earned a “2014 Top Safety Pick” by the IIHS and an overall five-star crash test rating by the NHTSA.

It also includes Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a Driver’s blind spot mirror as standard equipment across the lineup.
All-in, for the price, this is the best deal I have seen on a modern and fully equipped C-segment since prior to the recession of 2008/2009. In other words, considering a competitor for much more $s is not in your financial best interest.
