I think the new season (starting 8 August) could be the most exciting for a long time. The odds suggest four teams have a really good chance of winning it (Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal & Man Utd, in that order) with Liverpool as credible outside bets. It's been many years since so many clubs have started the season with a similar chance.
In my opinion Chelsea have the best defense, the best manager and were clearly best last season. But there squad is small so injuries could hurt them badly. Man City have a great attack, strong squad and bought solidly over the summer but can Pellegrini push them hard enough to win? Arsenal are my favourites: strong all round squad, good manager, finished last season excellently and in Cech now have a World Class goalkeeper. But, as ever, their first team still looks two players short potential (centre forward and holding midfielder). Man Utd are spending big again but will the new star players do any better than the ones from last season (di Maria & Falcao). And Liverpool have bought in numbers again (and in Benteke & Milner especially proven Prem League star players) but surely the gap last season is too much to bridge next year.
On balance I rate Arsenal for the title, a touch above Chelsea, then Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool but it is incredibly tight.
