Yeah so now the DeAndre dust has settled (Hence why I didn't post for a bit- figured it may still be too raw!) I think while I'm obviously delighted to keep him, the way he managed the situation was terrible. I mean the Emoji war on Twitter and the Blake tweets were funny- a very entertaining evening- but the way DJ handled it was poor. Should have phoned Cuban and not, as Stephen A said, get his mother to phone. However, something that JJ Redick said afterwards, is that if owners want to get a phonecall from players saying they're not signing with that team, then maybe they should offer the same courtesy when they trade players without so much as a phonecall... Just a thought. Not that two wrongs make a right, but according to DJ, when he left the Clippers, he didn't phone Doc. Apparantly players don't do that. Odd, as common courtesy would suggest that phoning someone you'd spent 2 seasons with would be the classy thing to do, but I guess players play by different rules to the rest of mankind. Its the same in England at the moment with half our team wanting to leave to go to bigger clubs and refusing to play until they do etc. Just really disrespectful.
Overall, I'd say that the Clippers, Spurs, Rockets and Heat have won this off season so far. Lakers, Knicks and Portland are the obvious losers that spring to mind. Dallas have recovered reasonably well, getting Deron Williams (Ironically had that happened a few days earlier, Jordan may be a Maverick!) and getting some decent front court players, but I think the Matthews addition could come back to haunt you. I'm going with a Clippers vs Warriors WCF and a Cavs vs Heat ECF at the moment.
As for my concert, I'm seeing The Gaslight Anthem in London tomorrow. Cannot wait!
