2015 Hyundai Elantra SE - $18,185 to start including the D&H with the 6-speed MT while offering a 27/37 mpgUS city/highway rating. AT for $1,000 more adds 1 more mpg city and highway.
As we wait for the next sixth generation Hyundai Elantra reveal possibly as soon as the LA Auto Show, the 2015 Elantra returned with new features providing customers with even more value.
The multiple award-winning compact continues its value proposition as a strong choice in the highly-competitive C-segment with rivals including the newer and already refreshed Honda Civic, and brand new Toyota Corolla. Despite these and other serious competitors, the Elantra continues to sell well enough to hold onto third in the segment in September with 176,403 vehicles sold this year to date, down 9.3 percent from the 194,593 sold through the same period in 2013.
Considering it is one of the oldest models in the segment, it has recently been bestowed with the highest C-segment car in initial quality by J.D. Power in the 2014 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). Elantra is also a multiple ALG Residual Value Award recipient.

New for 2015
- Elantra SE: New Style Package, providing a $400 value savings
- Elantra Sport: New Tech Package
- Elantra Limited Tech Package becomes Ultimate Package, providing a $350 savings over the previous model year Tech Package
- New color availability
The Elantra SE Style Package is fitted with black cloth seating, Power tilt and slide sunroof, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, projector headlights with LED accents, chrome beltline molding, and aluminum entrance sills on the front doors which is usually a very expensive accessory on other OEMs C-segment offerings.
The Elantra Sport Tech Package (requires Sport AT) includes a 7-inch touchscreen NAVI system, 360-watt Premium audio with external digital amp, and Blue Link telematics.
What makes the Elantra so desirable is even today after most competitors have already released their next generation models, it continues with the best curb appeal of any compact offered today. In other words, “Fluidic Sculpture” is aging well and still looks hot. The designs 0.28 Cd is still one of the best in segment in terms of aero.
Considering the Elantra was designed at Hyundai's North American Design Center in Irvine, Calif. Probably 7 or 8-years ago, credit to its designers continues.
The Elantra offers the more desirable 145 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque 1.8L I4 that is standard on SE and Limited trims. The Elantra Sport, introduced for the 2014 model year, offers a standard 173 hp and 154 lb.-ft. of torque 2.0L GDI I4. It loses far too much efficiency with the larger displacement engine costing you dearly at the pump for the life of the Elantra.
