Funny stuff that happened in 5E.

I was running DnD 5e yesterday for 6 players.
The characters currently at 2nd level.

Without going into the whole campaign and scenario, the party ended up in a roadside Inn at a fairly remote location.

As it turned out, there's a bit of an undead outbreak in this area and a Necromancer is responsible for this.

So anyway, it's in the evening in this 2 storeyed Inn and they're expecting an assault any time.
They set up various NPCs to guard some of the top rooms and they patrol corridors.
The ground floor is barricaded at windows and doors and some people are guarding there too.

As it turns out, the Necromancer sends in a Ghoul in a top window (the walls are easy to climb and even though the windows are boarded up, it's not done very well on this window. No-one checked how well it was done.
There is an NPC guarding this room, patrolling the area, but the ghoul gets him and paralyses him. Then the Necro turns him into a zombie.

By this time, a PC, who is patrolling the general area as well (more or less) , after initially making some terrible perception checks, finally hears mumbling and movement that sounds kind of suspicious.

A fight ensues in a corridor near this room.. and soon the Dwarf Fighter is joined by the Ranger, a Human fighter and shortly after that the Cleric.

After a bit of a close call with the ranger getting paralysed by the Ghoul, they finally manage to dispatch it.
The Ranger then runs downstairs to help out, as it's pretty crowded up there and it seems to be going ok.

The Necro retreats with his zombie back into the room and the necro exits the window.
There's a bit of a fight with the zombie, which doesn't go that well initially (due to some bad rolling on the part of the players) until the cleric turns up and does a turn undead.
So the Zombie makes a save and rolls a 1.. Oops..
I decide it literally dives out the window in fear from the 1st floor (about 15 feet up)

Meanwhile... downstairs, there's a few zombies trying to bash in the front door of the Inn and they're slowly breaking through...

As I'm counting off rounds and using a battle-mat, I i know where everyone is.

At the point the Zombie dives out the windows, which is right above the Inn front door (the Necro has scarpered by this point) the Front door is smashed in mostly. However the party fairly quickly dispatches a couple of the zombies via missile fire and spells and good old fashioned melee weapons.
The downstairs group decides to run out of the front door to dispatch the remaining zombies, which have been pushed back.

So the first 2 out the door are the barbarian wielding his Greataxe and the Ranger slipping out with a bow to get some good shots...

However, precisely at that moment, the Zombie jumps out of the above window and falls down in front of the door.

I decide that this justifies a chance to dodge, as the characters are going to be pretty combat aware, so I give them a DEX save.

The Barbarian makes the save no problems and dodges out of the way of the falling Zombie..
Unluckily, the Ranger failed the DEX save miserably (and no inspiration point left for a re-roll) and takes a hefty 2D6 damage from a falling zombie right on top of her... lol...

It was pretty darn funny at the time as I didn't plan it, it was just how the circumstances turned out..

So, what sort of funny stuff has happened with you in 5E?
