2015 Ford F-150 with the all-new 2.7L EcoBoost with Start Stop - $27,410 to start while offering future owners an EPA rated 19/29 mpgUS city/highway rating.
This morning Ford released the EPA results on its all-new aluminum bed Pickup, the 2015 F-150. In the release, they are stating it is rated as the highest fuel economy rating full-sized truck in all of North America. Meaning it is not quite as efficient as the Colorado/Canyon compact pickup twins at 20/27 mpgUS city/highway or RAM’s big boy on the block 1500 EcoDiesel at 20/28 mpgUS city/highway.
The new 2015 F-150 4x2 with Ford’s 2.7L EcoBoost engine is EPA rated at 19/26/22 mpgUS city/highway/combined.
The much touted aluminum vs. steel weight savings in the 15 F-150 is but one technology employed to move the bestselling work truck up the efficiency and work scale.
With the weight savings and even more powerful engines, the F-150 can now tow as much as 1,100 more pounds and hauls as much as 530 more pounds today with a 5 percent to 16 percent better power-to-weight ratio than the current lineup depending on configuration.
EcoBoost technology was first offered in the F-150 back 2011 with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. I am sure some of you remember the Challenge we took upon ourselves in which the all-new technology proved its metal by crossing the continent while fully jam packed and 10 lbs. over tis GVWR at an incredible for its day 32.8 mpg.
