Tom Zunder made a good post about Glorantha, I'll post the relevant part here:
This I think is a quintessential Glorantha post in that it shows two things. First, that Glorantha can inspire a spirit of mythic adventure in its fans who clearly love the game. Second is that to the newbie it can be an impenetrable wall of unique names and references that makes your average Icelandic Saga look cozy and familiar. I mean he name dropped 7 times in two sentences. :)
So assuming through some means you could get a hold of any RuneQuest, HeroQuest or whatever product you wanted, what would you recommend to the newbster to get into Glorantha. Feel free to call out different sources for brevity or completeness as you see fit.
