It took me almost 3 hours to drive the 10 miles home yesterday evening. This system that has been hovering over the northeast chose roughly 1PM to start dumping on us, and the road crews couldn't get ahead of it before the rush. If I had known what was ahead I would have just stayed at work. Traffic basically stopped as soon as I hit the first main road thanks to vehicles either failing to climb hills on glare ice or sliding into one another on the way back down. (I finally bought snow tires for my car this year, so at least I didn't have that problem.) I guess we're out of practice as is usual for an early season storm. On the bright side, I was able to explain to my concerned wife that I was perfectly safe: you can't really get hurt if cars aren't even moving at a walking pace!
And yes, this tank is "swirling around the bowl" a bit faster than usual.
