Sense8 tells the story of eight strangers: Will (Smith), Riley (Middleton), Capheus (Ameen), Sun (Bae), Lito (Silvestre), Kala (Desai), Wolfgang (Riemelt), and Nomi (Clayton). Each individual is from a different culture and part of the world. In the aftermath of a tragic death they all experience through what they perceive as dreams or visions, they suddenly find themselves growing mentally and emotionally connected. While trying to figure how and why this connection happened and what it means, a mysterious man named Jonas tries to help the eight. Meanwhile, another stranger called Whispers attempts to hunt them down, using the same sensate power to gain full access to a sensate's mind (thoughts/sight) after looking into their eyes. Zojuist het eerste seizoen van deze serie afgekeken. Zag een paar weken geleden per toeval een trailer op TV voorbij komen en ik was eigenlijk wel benieuwd. Toen ik ermee mee begon moest ik er eigenlijk eerst wel heel erg aan wennen. Het was me in het begin niet helemaal duidelijk wat er nou allemaal gebeurde en met name waar het verhaal naar toe moest. De eerste paar afleveringen waren een beetje op zichzelf staand en leken geen deel uit te maken van een totaal verhaal. Nu ik de hele serie gezien heb denk ik daar anders over. Want juist de uitgebreide introductie met ieder personage zorgde er in de laatste paar afleveringen voor, dat voor mij, alles een stuk duidelijker was. Vond het echt een veelbelovend eerste seizoen en met name de connecties tussen de verschillende personages vond ik heel erg goed gedaan. Vooral het feit dat ze elkaars gevoelens voelen en gebruik kunnen maken van elkaar skills vond ik erg origineel. Met name in de laatste paar afleveringen kwam dit aspect steeds duidelijker naar voren. Het is lekker afwisselende serie met zowel actie, dialogen en zelfs een klein beetje humor af en toe. Heb ook wel een 'klik' met alle hoofdpersonen eigenlijk, ze vullen elkaar op de een of andere manier heel erg goed uit. Juist ook omdat ze zo divers zijn en natuurlijk totaal verschillende levens hebben.
Zijn er meer mensen die deze serie kijken of al gezien hebben? Zo ja, dan ben ik benieuwd naar jullie bevindingen. Ik vind het in ieder geval een echte aanrader.
