So, 5e Monster Manual...

... Nobody's talking about this yet. I've got mine. Thoughts:

- The descriptive text on the kenku and how they speak in echoes of what they've previously heard (voice or sound effect) is awesome.

- Proficiency in saves is very rare. A surprising choice. I wonder how that will work out.

- Merrows have been made more interesting and distinct, and are likely to be a regular part of my aquatic encounter repertoire now.

- Troglodyte art is awesome, intimidating and monstrous.

- The sahuagin art is stupid. One of the worst official depictions to date, just doofy. No idea what they were thinking.

- Liches are very explicitly soul eaters now. They have to regularly feed people to their phylactery. Frightening.

- Myconids get a sweeeet full page art piece. One of my favorites looks even better than ever.

- Orogs are in the orc section. Good, I always liked them better.

- Still no mention of how disease immunity fits in. Yeah yeah, rule of logic, but I'm worried. Contagion is still the spell I'm most torn on how to make fair.

- The sketches in the index section are priceless. Otyugh under the outhouse is pure victory.

- The art for the Marid harkens back to the cover of that one issue of Dragon magazine I can never find.
