Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - Sept. 22, 2014
2015 Chevrolet Colorado - $20,995 to start incl. D&H when equipped with the standard DI 200 hp 2.5L I4 mated to a 6-speed MT.
From our first preview of the Colorado/Canyon twins Pricing and just a week before the all-new Ford F-150 Pricing and EPA release, there has been some movement in the pickup truck segment. This morning GM released their compact lineups full EPA results and they are pretty damn healthy too!
The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon will offer segment best-in-class highway fuel efficiency for four-cylinder midsize pickup trucks. They are only bested by the 2WD Tacoma’s city result of 21.
The all-new midsize trucks, powered by the 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 2WD and 6-speed AT will have a Monroney with the following estimates in big bold black letters showing an EPA-estimated 20/27/22 mpgUS City/Highway/Combined ratings. As a 4WD, the trucks will have EPA-estimated 19/25/21 mpgUS City/Highway/Combined ratings.
GM also stated that the Canyon will also offer segment-leading payload ratings with the optional 3.6L V6. The Colorado and Canyon will be rated at 1,590 pounds and 1,620 pounds, respectively.
Colorado and Canyon FE
The 2.8L turbodiesel and its specs will not arrive until the 2016 MY. Expect a 30 + mpgUS highway result for that truck once it arrives.
The Colorado and Canyon should be reaching Chevrolet and GMC dealership now.
