Hello, I'm here to post about a project that's going to be on Kickstarter in November. I know this forum has an "Other Games" section, and ours definitely fits: we're coming from a classic "solo roleplaying" experience and releasing a new board game.
My name is Richard S. Hetley, and I've posted here a couple times when I and my friends launched gamebook projects on Kickstarter (link and link). Today we're trying to spread word about our upcoming project, Lone Wolf - The Board Game, a tabletop game based on the classic gamebook series from the 80's. It is one of the most artistic projects you're likely to see, designed wholly by Gary Chalk, illustrator of Redwall, HeroQuest, and many other beloved worlds.

This isn't live on Kickstarter just yet: this is a "soft launch" to get feedback from tabletop fans and anyone else who loves fantasy gaming. Lone Wolf is the story of the last of the Kai Lords, warrior monks who defend the land of Sommerlund against the Darklords and their minions. It was written by Joe Dever and originally illustrated by Gary Chalk, and those illustrations helped define the experience for countless fans. But what even the most diehard fan didn't know was that Gary designed a board game version 30 years ago, and in November we will ask your help in bringing it to life.
I'm posting here, on an RPG forum, because we're in that intersection between game styles where everything gets blurry. The classic gamebooks are "solo roleplaying." What we have is a boxed set with dozens of cardboard stand-up figures in a plastic base, the better to show off Gary's hand-drawn art, which you can use to do a tabletop re-enactment of the classic Lone Wolf scenes. We're also developing optional 3-D miniatures based on Gary's designs, and we wanted to know how interested backers would be in high-quality white metal you can collect and paint one-by-one.
Please take a look and leave your thoughts in the comments section. Lone Wolf has always been an exciting action game, and we're thrilled Gary has given us this chance to bring the action beyond the page. Please share the preview link with anyone you know who loves Lone Wolf, board games, or both, and please help us out in November!
Thanks for reading!
