So I'm starting a 5E campaign, but I'm not real wild about the Hoard adventure (will probably still use it, though).
I tried my best to have decent lighting and a steady hand.

Help! You look heavily armed, and must be adventurers! I'm Big Bob, and Big Bob's Inn, Tavern, Petting Zoo, and Menagerie has been overrun by a fester of kobolds! Please, my animals! They also have my daughter..."
The heroes cut him off to get on with the adventure. So much for flavor text. :(

The back of the inn is walled off, with high bramble hedges...the party hears animal screams, but elects to go through the front door.
They're confronted by the common room of the inn, overrun with kobolds. A somewhat larger specimen is standing on a table, with a duck attached to his head via some sort of flat rope. He's addressing his comrades: "I, Kikatrix the Second, will rule more wisely than Kikatrix the First. I promise never to try to marry a pinkskin, no matter how small, or how great the need to make peace with the former king by marrying his daughter, and legitimizing my rule over this bountiful kingdom, inn, tavern, petting zoo, and menagerie! We have sealed the former king below with superior kobold engineering, and now I rightly rule!"
Upon noticing the adventurers, Kikatrix the Second speaks "Hail, visitors to my kingdom, have you come bearing gifts?" I..."
The party cuts him off with the overwhelming urge to roll initiative. It doesn't take long for many kobolds to die. A typical character has around a +5 to hit, and kobolds are AC 12. Kobolds hit back often enough, and pretty hard. Luckily the party's cleric has DR 3, and absorbs many blows (including a critical hit).
