Ford is giving its second big price chop to its electric version of its Focus Electric in hopes of spurring sales.
The price is being cut by $6,000 to $29,995, including shipping. With the $4,000 reduction that took place a year ago, Ford has now slashed the price of the compact Focus Electric by a quarter. Easy to see why: While Ford sold 176,156 conventional Focus cars through September, according to Autodata, Ford says only about 1,500 were the electric version.
The price cut will apply to both 2014 and 2015 versions of the Focus electric. And the Focus electric is eligible for the federal tax credit of up to $7,500 and any local or state credits.... [Read More]
