Now that I am back from the whirlwind 3,000 miles of driving and 3,500 miles of flights crossing large swath of the Desert Southwest and West Coast in an Audi A3 TDI and even spending some time at Mercedes Sprinter Plant in Charleston, SC, I am finally home.
Trying to schedule a 2015 Kia Soul EV for here in Chicago. Not sure how STI pulled that one off - a desirable compliance car in IL??? - but cannot wait to drive it!!! If it is going to be available, it will only be for a few days. Possibly Monday or Tuesday through Friday.
On Saturday November 8th I am flying to LAX and hopefully picking up a 15 Fit with stick or AT, a 34 mpg highway rated 15 CR-V with the Accord drivetrain, or a 2015 Honda Odyssey. If the Ody is first, I will perform the calibration drive between LA and San Diego on the afternoon of Nov. 8th. On the 9th, I will load up 6 family members including myself and do a quick drive from San Diego to Long Beach for an MPGe comparison.
LAAS in late November and a Murano drive in Northern California through the end of the month and beginning of December will round out the coverage.
