Has a game's fanbase ever encouraged you to play it?

Looking at the other thread, figured I'd start this one. Just what the title says- has a game's fanbase ever encouraged you to play that game or want to be a part of that game's community? Some games seem attract creative and fun folks who want to share and there's an energy that's contagious. Other games.... don't.



I have a big ol' soft spot for the good folks over at Basic Fantasy. What about you?
