2016 Toyota Mirai FCV - $499 per month/36 month lease with $3649 due at lease signing, or purchase for $57,500 with free H2 fuel where you can find it for three years.
The normally ultra conservative Japanese automakers went out on a limb earlier today with their latest online advert. The spot was intended to show what the H2 revolution can and will do for transportation. Maybe not today but maybe tomorrow… Not sure how they got this passed the Japanese Exec’s but good for Toyota for taking the “bull” by the horns and taking care of business.
On a more serious note, Toyota tapped an award-winning documentary filmmaker named Morgan Spurlock to show how calling hydrogen fuel cell vehicles “bullsh*t” isn’t far from the truth.
“Fueled by Bullsh*t” is the first online video in a multi-part “Fueled by Everything” series aimed to educate a broad audience about the innovative ways H2 FCV fuel can be made from renewable sources. Spurlock directed the 3-minute piece which features a dairy farmer and mechanical engineer as they follow cow manure from a mooing supply source to its ultimate use in powering the Toyota Mirai.
Beyond high quality dung, H2 can be manufactured from other renewable energy sources including solar, wind and biogas from landfills. These production methods can result in a domestic and locally sourced fuel that powers the Mirai while emitting only water vapor from the tailpipe.
The multi-series video campaign is launching through the Toyota Mirai website. The Toyota Mirai site will also feature a deeper dive into the scientific process of creating hydrogen fuel, with explanations from scientists and experts in the field.
2016 Toyota Mirai

There have been 4 cool PR ideas and releases that stand out as revolutionary and thinking outside the box in the last few years.
The first was the Toyota’s Tundra Tows the Shuttle Endeavour Partway Home.
The second outside the box idea came about from the 2015 Hyundai Sonata short lead in Montgomery, Alabama in which we drove the press cars off the end of the production line.
The third was also a Hyundai production I wrote about just recently entitled "A Message to Space.".
And number 4 was this little daddy. Not for the entertainment or creative value but because sometimes “Sh*t Happens” from or when you least expect it. I have elevated it a bit more than it deserves but I was just so surprised to see a “let your hair down cool” from “nerds” is all.
So how is you own "Bullsh*t meter reading" write now? ;)
